Trevor McDonald Tonight Programme - 24th Oct 05

On the 24th October the Tonight programme, hosted by Trevor McDonald, investigated the emerging issues of residential housing estates which have been built on land formerly used for industrial processes which is potentially contaminated. The investigation looked at three estates, one in Ely, Cambridgeshire, one in Birmingham and one in Wigan.

Tony Draper has been involved in this investigation into the contamination concerns in Wigan, specifically being involved in the services of Independent Tenant and Resident Advisor.

While the programme was not an in depth analysis of contaminated land issues on residential housing estates, it did identify stark differences between the way in which communication took place between the residents and the regulator.
